Our Troop

2nd Dereham (Toftwood) Scout Troop mixes traditional scouting activities with modern twenty first century programmes.

We plan our programmes guided by ideas from the scouts to enable them to progress through the Challenge Awards Scheme and work towards their Chief Scout’s Gold Award.

Our scouts are encouraged to participate in activities that will stretch them physically and mentally, both individually and as teams.

Camping is a regular activity the troop enjoys throughout the year, typically we run annually a survival skills camp, a frosty camp, a night hike camp, weekend activity camps and of course our week long summer camp. Recent summer camps have included Eurojam, Norjam as well as camps in Derbyshire, Suffolk and Essex which included a visit to the World Jamboree.

Based at our own headquarters we have the perfect facility for all scouting activities, and with our strong leader team our scouts are assured of top class scouting.

With a reputation as an inclusive troop, we are pleased to welcome young people of all abilities. We are of course a mixed troop and welcome all young people whatever their gender.
