Cub Scouts are for boys and girls age 7.5 – 10.5 years and are the second section in the Scouting family.

There is an ‘out’ in Scout and as Cub Scouts we love to be outdoors whenever we are able. We learn to pitch tents, light fires, cook over an open fire, play wide games, have a go at shooting, archery and geocaching as well as loads of other things. In the Summer months Akela, (That’s the leader of a Cub pack) tries to arrange visits to local places or take us camping. In the winter we sometimes have people come and visit us at our HQ as well as working towards badges.

We do something different every week and a lot of the stuff we do is really useful, like first aid and learning about nature or people with disabilities. We even went to Tesco and learned how to make bread as well as some fun facts about food.

Our Cubs come from Dereham, Toftwood and villages nearby which means you get to make new friends because not everyone goes to the same school.
